Quebec City is the hub of French-Canadian culture. Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, it still maintains the flavour and charm of the old world. Many architectural aspects, such as military fortifications, narrow roads and cobblestone streets, reminiscent of both New France and 18th Century England still characterize the capital to this day. Quebec City is also the only walled city north of Mexico and has been distinguished as a UNESCO world heritage treasure!
